In 2009, the Val di Fiemme Tourist Board enthusiastically signed up a provincial project applying stricter regulations to private apartments for holiday rentals.
The project represents a great opportunity for the local territory and its guests, who seem to appreciate more and more this kind of holiday accommodation, provided that it offers higher guarantees of quality and transparency.
All the apartments signed up to the local tourist board are subject to inspections by officers in charge, who assign a 1 to 4 gentian category, according to objective standards that analize what the facilities offer in terms of comfort: furniture quality and rooms layout; availability of parking spaces or household appliances such as washing machine and dishwasher; any other “surplus value”, like Internet access, bicycles or barbecue.
The local Tourist Board will thus have a better knowledge of the apartments available, in order to assure its guests the most appropriate accommodation solution and the best quality.
Some of the owners have also shown their willingness to follow specific training and refresher courses about tourist trends and how to organize a holiday home rental activity.
